There was a Cold Lady who Swallowed some Snow by Lucille Colandro
Biggest, Best, Snowman by Margery Cuyler
Snowman at Night by Caralyn Buehner
Biggest, Best, Snowman
This is a mixture of glue and shaving cream. Students use their hands to make three circles for the snowman. Then they decorate with whatever art supplies you have in the classroom.
ABC Snowballs
Write letters on a piece of paper and crumple them up like a snowball. Make sure that you have written two of each letter so that the students can match them. You can also do one capital and one lowercase letter so then the students are matching captial to lowercase. I divided the students into two groups and had them stand opposite each other in a line a few feet apart (Kinda like the setup for Red Rover). Then I counted to three and they all threw their snowballs. Each student picks up a fallen snowball, opens it up to read the letter inside, and finds the person that has their matching letter. Then set up again and play as long as you like.
Gingerbread Letter Match
Students pull a letter out of a bag and color it on their Gingerbread Man.
Snowflake Letter Stamp
Students pick a snowflake, say the letter on the back, and stamp it on their printable. Available at my TPT store here.
More or Less Winter Scene
Students take turns rolling the dice and putting the corresponding number of snowflakes on the green snowman. Then they roll the dice again again and put that many snowflakes on the red snowman. Then they must state which snowman has more/less snowflakes.
Where's the Gingerbread Man?
Students take turns picking a letter and flipping over that house to find the Gingerbread Man. Available at my TPT store here.
Snowman Noses Count
Students roll the dice and make a tower as big as the number on the dice. Then they use the tower to be the snowman's nose. I only used orange unfix cubes.
Sweater Match Count
Cute, winter themed, counting activity at Mrs. Lees Kinder Kids here.
Name Snowman
I got the picture and directions from here.
There was a Cold Lady who Swallowed Some Snow
After we read the book, the students glue the items that the cold lady ate in her stomach in the correct order. You can get this from my TPT store here.
