Paper Plate Turkey

Half a paper plate, tissue paper, brown circle, feet, and crayons. You can make it cuter by adding wiggle eyes from the craft store, but I didn't have any, so the kids just drew their own eyes. They still loved it. Oh, and I had the studnets cut out their own circle for the body to add some fine motor practice to the art project.

Turkey Door Hangers

We make these every year on the day before Thanksgiving Break. I encourage the children to hang it on their front door to welcome their Thanksgiving dinner guests.

"Hand"some Turkey

Students trace their hand and turn it into a turkey.

Where's the Turkey Feather?

Hide the turkey feather under one of the turkeys. Students take turns guessing a letter to try and find the feather.

Thankful Turkey Feathers

Students draw a picture of something they are thankful for. I usually give the students two turkey feathers. They must first cut out the turkey feathers, then draw something they are thankful for on each turkey feather. I have a turkey bulletin board display and we staple the feathers to the turkey.

Thanksgiving Pie Count

Students put cotton balls on the pies to resemble whipped cream.
